Happy Birthday 🎊🎂 sweet Daisy. Today you are two. You are the true meaning of a rescue dog but only in reverse. You didn’t know that when we brought you home, you would give us a spark and then so much joy when our hearts were so heavy from three very special losses in our life within three months. Although we still carry those losses, we also now carry you most everywhere we go. You are super energized every day. It’s like the doggie police come in the night and recharge your little battery. You give more kisses than all our other dogs combined. Almost like you are giving us kisses to make up for the ones we lost. You love everyone, especially little ones, and I know for sure Jaxson appreciates that because he carries you with him when he visits, and no matter where I am, you are always close by. You help me on the computer; you even have your own shows that you like to watch. You sit with me when I read, your favorite books being the banned ones, but I won’t tell anyone and you have finally learned not to run away with my yarn when I’m knitting. You are a spark of a new life for Papa and me and you are perfectly perfect for us.
So today is your day. I promise to take you to sit on the front porch so you can see all the activities out front. Later we will go to Cherry Hill Creamy for your puppy ice cream and you already got a new collar to chew on now; if you could only stop chasing trucks and escaping out the front door, that would sure make my life easier. We love ❤️ you, Daisy; thanks for finding us.
I thought sharing some of your favorite things with those who visit here might be fun. I also like to save them for me to reflect on because you are always learning new tricks we could add each year. You sure are a ray of sunshine now that you are two and listen to commands most of the time…let’s take a peek.
You love going on adventures and vacations. You are a great little traveler. You always sit in your car seat, buckled in and no complaints. This summer we did a road trip to Harpswell, Maine, and it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. Another day, we did a day trip to the Arnold Arboretum. You and Papa look so beautiful in the lilac bush.
When Jaxson comes over you like to go to the workshop with him and Papa. They only let you stay there for a few minutes because you tend to get in trouble down there.
Then along comes Fall. You really get excited about the holidays. You love lots of company especially, the boys. You have fun in pumpkin weather, and even in a Charlie Brown can on Christmas Eve. Silly Jaxson, always messing with you.
Of all the things that you do in the day, and of all the trips you take you still like tea time the best. You know exactly when it’s four o’clock and you come looking for me. We make tea, and you watch to make sure I get you two Teddy Grahams and one chewy dog bone. I get my tea and one ginger snap…then we head to the screen porch in the summer or to the cozy couch in the winter. After you have your cookies, you settle down with your baby and I grab my book. It’s also my favorite time of day…just me, and you resting. I love you Daisy girl.
